Land Use, Real Estate Development, & Land Use Litigation

Primary Focus & Experience

Jack focuses his practice on land use and real estate development issues throughout the Pacific Northwest. His projects include many of the most visible and recognizable landmarks in the Puget Sound area. He focuses on the needs of capital investors in the entitlement and development process. In his career, he has represented the majority of the office, multifamily, mixed-use, hotel, retail and industrial developers in the region.

Jack is well-known as one of the most prominent land use attorneys in the region and has been recognized for decades by Best Lawyers, Chambers and Super Lawyers for his work. He built his practice by dedicating himself to one formula: for his clients, create more value than they pay for. His deep industry knowledge and connections enable him to stay a step ahead of the changing rules that govern developers and urban planners.

Jack has practiced land use in this region for over 40 years. He is active in community service, including serving as Chair of the Downtown Seattle Association, the founder of Seattle for Everyone and chair of the Pacific Northwest Chapter of the United Negro College Fund.
